How it works

Three steps, zero new tabs

  1. 1

    Select

Drag the mouse, double-click a word or triple-click a paragraph. Or press Ctrl+Shift+Y.

  2. 2

    Read the bubble

It appears next to your cursor with the translation and the detected language pair, e.g. EN → ES.

  3. 3

    Copy or replace

Copy the translation or replace the selected text with it — perfect for replying in another language.

Auto mode: Spanish ↔ English, hands-free

If the text isn't Spanish, it goes to Spanish. If it already is, it goes to English. You can change both languages in Options or pick a fixed one.

What happens to your text

Full privacy policy →

  • To translate, the selected text is sent to the Google Translate service. That is the only thing that leaves your device.

  • No account and no Secoide servers: we never receive or store what you translate.

  • Settings and history are stored only on your device.

  • To save translations, TraduCoide ignores selections without letters (numbers, symbols) and remembers what it already translated.

FAQ

Does it cost anything?

The download on this page is direct, with no sign-up and no payment.

It says “Google limitó la traducción por un rato”. What now?

Google caps free translations per internet connection. If many people translate from the same network, it may pause for a few minutes. TraduCoide tells you how long to wait and resumes on its own.

Why does Windows say it protected my PC?

That is the SmartScreen notice for programs that are not digitally signed yet. Click “More info” → “Run anyway”. You can compare the file’s SHA-256 fingerprint with the one on this page.

Does it work on Mac?

For now there are versions for Windows and Google Chrome. The Chrome extension works on Mac, inside the browser.

Why isn’t the extension on the Chrome Web Store?

You install it by loading the folder in Chrome with Developer mode. It works the same; only the install method differs.

Can I translate long paragraphs?

Yes. For very long texts, the manual translator (main window on Windows, toolbar panel in Chrome) is more comfortable.
